Est. 1995

Established in 1995, the Business Council of Papua New Guinea is the peak body representing the private sector across all industries, promoting the fundamental roles of economic growth, freedom, and enterprise. While acting as a catalyst for reconciliation and sustainable growth is a complex challenge, we are driven by a sheer passion to maximize harmony between the nation’s diverse sectors. Today, the Council serves as the primary voice for roughly 90 private sector members in high-level government-to-business engagements.

The Council’s advocacy is driven by a comprehensive five-year strategy, brought to life through a suite of high-impact programs and initiatives. This includes the Praivet Gavamani Konekt—encompassing our high-level business breakfasts and the influential Futures Forum—as well as five dedicated Technical Working Groups that formulate our policy recommendations. Our engagement remains robust through the G2B Consultative Forums with the PM&NEC, our annual bilateral forum with the Australia-PNG Business Council, and our commitment to future leaders through the Internship Program. Crucially, our advocacy is fueled by the data within our three annual flagship reports: the Economy Report, the Business Protection Report, and the Investment Partnership Report.
