Australian Business Volunteers (ABV)
BCPNG has utilised the resources of ABV to assist us with development and promotion of our organisation. This has taken place via a skills share program where an Australian volunteer spent a month in Port Moresby, working with our staff to produce this website and other organisational material, training us in their creation and maintenance.
Following is some information about ABV:
Australian Business Volunteers Ltd (ABV) is a not-for-profit, non-Government organisation. ABV was jointly founded in 1981 by the then Australian Confederation of Trade and Industry and the Australian Government.
ABV is largely funded by AusAID.
ABV aligns itself with the aims of the Australian Government’s overseas aid program. These aims are to help reduce poverty and create sustainable development. Promoting good governance is also an important goal of the aid program.
ABV contributes to poverty reduction, sustainable development and good governance by providing Australian expert volunteers who, through sharing their skills and experience, assist businesses and organisations in developing countries to grow and thrive. They focus on clients in South East Asia and the Pacific.
